The Municipal Museum in Żory is awarded in many prestigious competitions.

We’re happy about our museum vision appreciation. We report our ideas to contest on regional and polish nationwide level.

Of course – every award is important, but for a museologist, the most important one is SYBILLA – “museum Oscar” handed by Minister of Culture and National Heritage. We’re proud that this award has been given to us. GRAND PRIX towards us…

There’s a role, which can’t be left unmentioned; a role, which, in case of every award, falls to our main graphic designer and artist – Anna Flaga. Due to her, our projects were visually unique, considered and polished.

We’re happy the most of these small awards, passed to us by our Guests, who come back and claim that there is a thing to come back for.

Now it’s just a formality. Here is a list of our achievements.

 2021 – 2nd prize in Category Tourism Product – Cultural Attractions/National Competition in the 16th edition of the FilmAT Festival under the auspices of the International Organization of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) in Vienna (http://eng.filmat-festival.com/winners-2021-tc5 /).

2020 – Distinction in the competition of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship for the museum event of 2020 for the best popular science publication in 2020, the Polish Africanist Society recognized the book Vodoun Fon. Birgit Schlothauer and Gustav Wilhelm Collection - presenting the collection donated to the Museum in 2015 by a pair of German collectors.

2019 – Honorable Mention of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship in the exhibition category for the Ainu World exhibition. From Bronisław Piłsudski to Shigeru Kayano

2019 – Distinction of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship in the category of Achievements in the field of educational initiatives and popularization of cultural heritage for the Museum Patriotic Mission project. Course for independence

2018 – Award passed by Marshal of Silesian Voivodeship in category: exhibition, for exhibition "Our identity"

2007 – European Label for educational project “Lab – Francophonie Belgium” for innovative implementation of foreign languages into lessons.

2007 – European Label for educational project “Guatemala knocks me down” for innovative implementation of foreign languages into lessons.

2006 – Award at contest concerning lessons script from development education of Foundation Education for Democracy
