The Municipal Museum in Żory got awarded with the most important museum award – „Sybilla”!!!

In this way, we were chosen from over 200 competiting institutions and projects. Reciving this museum „Oscar” is a nobilitation of an institution and appreciation of work put by all the employees. Our exhibition-scientific programme „Polish Way of Learning the World” got awarded and Jury appreciated provincial museums work and their dynamic development. Because Żory’s Museum was the only one provincional facility (with a perennial vision which was also mentioned) we all feel very bolstered.

The award in the Royal Castle in Warsaw was received from the prime minister Piotr Gliński by Lucjan Buchalik, Katarzyna Podyma and Anna Flaga.

It is worth to mention that our Museum was a nominee twice. In 2004 we were merited in category „educational projet” and in 2016 in category „investments”.
